Our app has been in the “We’re assigning a reviewer to your submission” state for almost two weeks now.
The app is intended to remain unlisted, and installation is performed exclusively via a direct installation link provided to Shopify stores that choose to integrate with our company.
My question is: is there any way to speed up the review process for unlisted apps, or is this timeline expected?

There’s not unfortunately. You just have to wait it out - believe me I tried to speed it up too. Keep in mind it’s 5-10 business days to get that first review going. Then it’s 2-3 business days for each iteration. If you’re near 2 weeks then you’re near your first review.

There’s currently no process to speed up a review for an unlisted app - these are treated the same as listed apps.

This could be a problem for your review - the app should be installable without a merchant requiring a direct link. ie: the install flow should be the same as a listed public app. Is there a specific reason why you can’t use managed installs: Enable Shopify-managed installations for your app

Just to clarify. I didn’t mean that the app must be installed exclusively via a direct installation link. From our side, the app can be public and installable via the standard Shopify-managed installation flow as well; that wouldn’t be an issue for us.
The mention of the direct installation link was only to explain how we currently plan to onboard merchants, not to imply a technical restriction or a custom install flow.
Given that, could you please confirm that our current setup won’t block or delay the review process?

It that case - all should be good for approving the install flow, and shouldn’t impact on the review process. We are seeing a higher than usual rate of app submissions but if you’re still waiting in a few days tag me here and I’ll check the progress on your app submission.
