Shopify app reviewers are missing general Shopify knowlegde

I submitted a Shopify translation app for review.

I then receive an email stating that there are issues with my app.

“After translating the products information and publishing them, following the outlines testing instruction, the translated information are not reflecting in the products section in the Shopify admin or in the storefront. The information have stayed the same despite the chosen language has already been added as well in the languages in Shopify. The result not reflecting in either the admin or storefront have not allowed us from further reviewing the app. Check attached screencast for reference.”

In the video the reviewer, translates a product image alt text, and then wonders why the title has not changed, probably mistaking the alt text for the title, since they have the same value…

Also he tries to translate the description of a product and then showing that it is not translated in the shopify admin. But translation are not shown on the product page, they are always shown in the store language.

It seems like this reviewer has very little knowledge of the platform. In the email it says “Please note: you won’t be able to talk to an App Review Specialist until we verify your app meets all core review requirements.”

Then how can i tell the reviewer that he is mistaken?

He is literally looking at the wrong thing.

If there are anyone from the shopify team, then i can send the review video. It’s ridiculous :joy:

Hey @Anders_Christiansen, you can’t reach a specialist until core requirements pass, so reply to the review email with a short screencast showing the correct check: in admin, open the product and pick the language from the dropdown next to the title or description to see the translated value; on the storefront switch languages with the selector or the /fr path, since the default URL always serves the primary language. Alt text lives on the image, not the title, so spell that out in your testing instructions too, then resubmit. If it gets rejected the same way again, ask Partner Support to escalate.

@zeeshan_haider You can’t reply to the review email. Its a no-reply, and it also says so in the email.

I can resubmit, but it would be without having made any changes. And i’m worried that it might be the same reviewer looking at it, and then the app wont pass the review again.

I know how to check translations

I really should not have to write in the testing instruction that the image alt text is a key on the image, and not a key on the title…
