Solved: 500 error across all organization stores

Solved.

The issue was that my Shopify account did not have 2FA set up.

This error really needs to be flagged it would have saved a day and a half of work if there was a simple error message.

Shopify support said there was no way to tell without the tech team looking at the logs.

It is also concerning that I was able to access 2FA required stores for 3 days without having 2FA.

Perhaps implement something similar to Github, where the repo has a 2FA label so you know you need 2FA set up to access the repo, in the Partners store list.


Since yesterday at around 1:45pm EST, I have been unable to log into any Shopify store admins. The page goes to the Shopify admin url but then hangs until a 500 error displays.

I am now over 24 hours without the ability to access the Shopify admin impacting my ability to work. I have been in contact with Shopify Support but no solution has been found yet.

I have tried the following fixes:

  • Clearing cache and cookie data; this seems to be the usual fix
  • The organization owner removed and re-added me but that has not worked.
  • We confirmed that I have access to all stores within the organization.
  • I have logged in and out of the Shopify account.
  • I have logged in and out of the Shopify partners account
  • I have restarted my computer
  • I have restarted my internet connection
  • I have tried to open an incognito window and logging into the store that way
  • I have tried different browsers

Does anyone have any other ideas on how to resolve this issue?
