Stuck Since November Trying To Get App Approved

Hello Shopify Team,

I have tried numerous other ways to reach out but I either get automated responses or no responses at all and it is pretty frustrating. We have been trying since November of trying to get our Shopify connector app approved for our clients.

Our app is nothing more than data analytics connector to have users view their data in our platform. The first 2 times, yes we understand we made a mistake (one was a store listing “guarantee” and another was Shopify billing/stripe issues.)

This is the current timeline of submissions and reviews, ever since March, the reviewer keeps going through the wrong flow to review. They are installing and uninstalling the Shopify app with Shopify billing, then once canceled showing that we require an active plan and when they see Stripe, they are saying we are doing outside billing.

  1. Submitted to review November 2nd, reviewed on November 16.
  2. Submitted to review Jan 4th, reviewed on Jan 16. (Fixed Shopify billing)
  3. Submitted to review Feb 22nd (full fix with Shopify billing), reviewed March 16th. - Reviewer goes through wrong flow.
  4. Submitted to review March 21st (resubmitted app detailing this), reviewed April 29th. - Same wrong flow.
  5. Submitted again May 9th.

Yes, you need an active subscription to use our platform but when you are subscribed to Shopify we change your billing from Stripe to Shopify. There is a confirmation screen that details this. I am frustrated at what do here, especially since each review is taking over a month long.

I understand there are delays currently, but I think it can be easier just being able to directly message the reviewer or have comments back and forth. I hope this helps anyone else in the same issues.

Hey. I know how frustrating this must feel. I’ve been trying to get an app approved also and something thats helped me tremendously is speaking to the shopify support chat. They actally have an elite class support team ( probably better than I’ve seen on any other company. - they understand and have context about ongoing issues etc ). They help me find a path forward on what to change when resubmitting. Highly recommend going down that path given your timeline and multiple attempts. Im in no way connected to shopify. Just hoping this might help you too.
