Transfer Owner for Client

Hi Shopify Support,

I’m a new Shopify Partner and have just completed the development of a store for my client. I’m now trying to transfer ownership of the store, but during the transfer process, I’m asked to enter a password to confirm the action.

I’ve only ever logged in using my Gmail account (via Google login) and haven’t set a separate Shopify password. When I try using my Gmail account password, it doesn’t work.

Could you please advise what I should do in this case? Do I need to create a Shopify-specific password to proceed with the transfer?

Could you spare a moment to help check my issue? I’ve already contacted Shopify support, but I’m still not sure what exactly is going wrong or what I should do — instead of just waiting.

This for sure won’t be your Gmail password - you’ll need to set up a partner account password for this.
