Currently sending a collaborator request to a merchant shop doesn’t give us an option to request “Companies” (B2B) permissions.
We’ve got a B2B specific app and especially with the recent B2B For All announcement, we’re seeing more requests related to B2B and Companies.
Not being able to request the necessary permissions to help the merchant and subsequently needing to try and walk the merchant through updating it is a major (and unnecessary) pain point right now.

Yep… this is pretty terrible. Catalogs is similar. Adds a bit of unnecesasry friction early in the partner-client relationship.
Would be awesome if anyone from Shopify can confirm if this is at least on the radar. With expanded B2B access on all plans now we’re hitting this block more and more often.

Thanks for pointing this out. From your screenshot it looks like you may be doing this through the Dev Dashboard. However, we can only request collaborator access through the Partner Dashboard and these permissions aren’t available (ex: Shopify Partners 2026-05-06...).
Not sure if this isn’t something that’s generally available or still just rolling out. As one of my teammates mentioned several weeks ago on another post here, it seems like our org still hasn’t been migrated yet, so maybe an update on that is really what’s needed here if these permissions are already available in the new system.
We’re still in the process of migrating Partners to the new access control and org management system. We’re aiming to have all Partners migrated soon. You’ll be able to use these new permissions once your organization has been migrated

Thanks for the update @Paige-Shopify, going on 6 weeks so hopefully we’ll get this soon.
As I mentioned in the post, this is an almost every single day problem for us, if there’s any way to help us expedite our migration that would be immensely helpful 
We’re optimistically aiming to have everyone migrated by the end of this week. If your organization hasn’t been migrated by then, let me know and I’ll get it expedited for you.

Look’s like this finally went through. Haven’t had a chance to look around too much but just being able to request the correct permissions now is a huge bonus for us
