Plus dev store can't be accessed by other team members

Hi, I created a new Plus dev store through the Dev Dashboard in our Shopify Partners account, but my teammates can’t see it in the stores list or access it. Can you please advise how they could access such a store?

We’re working to address this. At the moment there is an issue where only the store owner can access dev stores with the plus plan. As a short term workaround you can use any other plan for your dev store and add staff to those stores.

Hi Terence, thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, we need some features of a Plus store, so the workaround won’t work :frowning: do you have a timeframe when it might be possible to share access of dev stores created in Dev Dashboard?

We are rolling out a fix for this now. Plus dev stores can add staff members via Admin > Settings > Users and permissions then click Add Staff.

@TerenceShopify is there a plan to simplify this, such that team members in our partner account can have access consistent with their partner account team member settings?

We will be shipping additional changes to how partner organizations manage users and permissions in the future to bring them more inline with how merchant organizations handle users and permissions. For now user access to dev stores is managed on a store by store basis.

I hope the changes can be implemented soon, as the current process is extremely time-consuming. Our QC team works on many development stores daily, and sending invitations to the Dev team for every single store is not an efficient solution.

I created two dev stores in the new partner dashboard
One is Plus Dev store
Second is Advanced Dev store

I am not owner of the Partner account, but one of the member.

Other members can’t see any of the stores I created.

Hope this will be fixed soon.

We are also seeing issues here today. Team members (or even other owners) cannot access newly created dev stores created as Plus.

How can I add another user to my Shopify Plus Dev store?

Hi Shopify team,

We’ve noticed some changes to dev store access earlier this month and wanted to check in for clarification.

Here’s what we’ve observed:

  1. Shopify Plus sandbox stores can no longer be accessed without the “Build and manage apps” permission.

  2. Test and build dev stores are also inaccessible without this permission.

  3. It’s no longer possible to create new test or build dev stores unless the account has “Build and manage apps” access.

Could you please share why this change was made? Only a few people in our organization have this permission, and they prefer not to grant it more people. It would be really helpful if there was a separate permission specifically for creating and accessing Shopify Plus sandbox and test/build dev stores, as we often need to test new features and setups without having to build/manage apps.
